Hardware extension functions

Hardware extension functions

  • Custom Solution for your HAT
  • A purchased license is valid for a single, uniquely identifiable Real-Time HAT and
is not transferable to another Real-Time HAT.
  • Use Case and Function Extension can be purchased individually.
  • It is also possible to purchase multiple Use Cases licenses for one device and select the use case on the command line.
  • Gain the full potential of your HAT!

As a member of the Labs Network Industry 4.0 (LNI 4.0) association, and the Industrial Internet Consortium (IIC), InnoRoute consistently tests and verifies the interoperability of its TSN solution.

Usecases

TSN Mediaconverter

One non-TSN port and one TSN port.

Enables standard Ethernet-based Linux devices to particiapte in a TSN network.

Packet Generator

FPGA-accelerated traffic generator, which allows you to fully stress your network at 100Mbps or 1Gbps.

TSN TAP 1G Analysator lite

TSN TAP for monitoring TSN networks with two 10/100/1000 Mbps ports without breaking PTP.

The wireshark support enables the link to common evaluation tools.

Single Port TSN Endpoint

Raspberry PI as hardware-accelerated high-precision TSN endpoint.

Supports also time accurate packet generation. (limited load)

Swiched TSN Endpoint

Two TSN ports for line topologies with hardware-accelerated low-latency forwarding.

Function Extensions

Trigger-over-Ethernet

Programmable trigger signal output based on synchronized time.

Can be used to synchronize captures for sensor data fusion.

Ingress/Egress Pulses/Timestamps

Output pin pulse generation or timestamp capture, whenever a frame is entering or leaving the HAT on a specific port.

PPS

1 Pulse per Second input/output, for precise timekeeping and synchronization.

Deep Packet Inspection (DPI)

Stateful inspection of higher-layer packet contents, for alerting, blocking, re-routing, or logging.

Timestamped Alarming

Generate upstream packets based on triggered input pins, with precise event timestamps.

Examples

Trigger-over-Ethernet

Your application requires precise trigger signals at different locations? Use a Real-Time HAT at each location with the Trigger over Ethernet extension. Configure the PTP-synchronized Real-Time HATs to output trigger signals at the same time.

TSN Endpoint + PPS

Turn your Raspberry PI into a hardware-accelerated high-precision TSN endpoint. You want to insert packets according to your TSN IEEE802.1Qbv time-aware shaper configuration? No problem with the TSN endpoint Use Case license. Combine with the PPS Function Extension license to observe the synchronization accuracy.

Packet Generator

You need a Packet Generator for stress tests? Your Mausezahn or tcpreplay do not get the link busy? Then the Packet Generator use case license for your Real-Time HAT is just right. The FPGA accelerated feed gets every port stressed.

Timestamped Alarming

Connect different PPS sources on selected PMOD pins of your Real-Time HAT to generate precise event timestamps for comparative purposes.

Basic License + PPS

You need advanced measurement instruments, then order the PPS Function Extension, which is referenced to the synchronized network time and output at the PMOD pin.

Switched Endpoint

You want a switched Endpoint to support a line topology with TSN. Then just download the Switched TSN Endpoint Use Case License to build your network topology, and you are ready to go. It is best to combine it with the Ingress/Egress flag/timestamp Function Extension license to time stamp exactly when a specific packet reaches the Real-Time HAT (e.g. the identification is done on Layer 2 and 3: simply match on IP and MAC addresses combination). Monitor and measure your TSN Ethernet network with InnoRoute Real-Time HAT!

TSN switched Endpoint + Ingress/Egress flag/timestamp

You want to measure the accurate timing in your network? Tag specific packets with their actual hardware timestamp on different locations in the network? Generate a timing map, showing where packets are slowed down in your network setup? Purchase the Switched Endpoint with egress timestamping.

TSN Endpoint + Trigger-over-Ethernet

You application requres precise trigger signals on offerent locations? There is an Ethernet connection available? Purchase the Trigger over Ethernet extension for each location. The PTP-synchonised Real-Time HATs are able to generate predefined synchonous trigger signals at the same time.

Deep Packet Inspection

Your use case requires the packet inspection and matching up to OSI layer 4 or more. You want to correlate your captured packets with the state of the Qci gate the packet has passed to gain precise timing information? Then you should purchase the RealTime-HAT DPI Function license!

TSN TAP 1G Analyser lite

You want to tap the data traffic in a 10/100/1000Mbps TSN network with fixed latency? Above all, do you want to map the data traffic in relation to your TSN configuration? Then the TSN Analyzer is exactly what you need.Log in nanoseconds when an IEEE 802.1Qbu preemptable or express frame has been received, or determine if a frame will encounter a closed or open gate control list entry of an IEEE802.1Qbv time-aware shaper.
