InnoRoute a partner with Fraunhofer ESK and Lantiq for funding project Flex DP

InnoRoute proudly announces its partnership in the research project FlexDP with Fraunhofer ESK and Lantiq. The project targets the improvement of G.fast/VDSL2 Distribution points:

The next milestone that has to be achieved in bandwidth distribution infrastructures is the upgrading of existing networks with Fiber to the distribution point (FTTdp). In this setting, the glass fiber is led to a building to a relatively short distance to a flexibly positioned distribution point. For the rest of the distance, an already existing copper line is used. The issue that has to be answered by the partners involved in the project FlexDP is how data rates of 1-2 Gbit/s can be realized. The project is funded by Bayerische Forschungsstiftung.

InnoRoute will provide its packet processor FlowEngineTM, adapted to the special requirements of G.fast distribution points. InnoRoute will use its experience in a cost efficient packet processing and methods for conception exploration from previous funding project activities. InnoRoute actively researches SDN-based solutions for the controlling of QoS processes in access networks, the last mile, and firm networks.

On top of that, InnoRoute invests more and more of its resources in developing an innovative IPv6 Router to support this vision.
